For the last 10 years we have hosted the fishing derby on Family Day weekend as a fundraiser for youth in the Boundary area. Since it began, it has grown and become a highly anticipated within the community. On the Saturday and Sunday we have fishermen of all ages compete for the biggest fish as well as take part in other events. From the funds raised we have created two funding opportunities for families. Check the event and photos below.

We have categories for biggest fish for men, women and youth.

We have family competitions such as snow sculping and snow snakes.

We have hot dogs and chili available for purchase by donation.

Starting in 2026, we will include several voyageur games, including axe throwing and log sawing.
We want all kids to have the opportunity to pursue their interests. Whether that be sports, dance or arts, we don't want a lack of funds to be the reason a child or youth is unable to participate in something they enjoy. For this reason, ANY family in the Boundary can apply for up to $500 to help fund their child's activity. Contact us to fill out the application form.
Pursuing post secondary education and training can be expensive. Our bursaries were created to help students on their journey to more education or training. We have 4 bursaries available, two for Indigenous students and two for any student, for students with volunteer experience. The deadline for applications is the end of May. Contact us or your school counselor for the application.
We are always looking for donations for the fishing derby! Please donate to help youth below.
